We are a small but mighty team of thinkers, doers, and innovators in the arts. With over 15 years of experience in public art, we understand the time-consuming work of using disparate systems to manage public art collections. This insight propels our commitment to making the Public Art Archive universally accessible, equitable, and predominantly free. 

Our strength as one of Creative West’s (formerly WESTAF) web-based technology products is we share a unique bond with the public art world, giving us insight into the changing needs of the field. Lori Goldstein is the manager of Creative West’s Public Art Archive. Prior to joining Creative West, Goldstein served as public art and program manager for the Arts Council of Lake Oswego, Oregon. Prior to that role, she served as a contractor for the Archive during its formative years. In that capacity, her responsibilities included gathering collections of public art, working to ensure that classifications in PAA were properly applied, and supporting the improvement of the quality of images on the site. Goldstein has also served as the public art assistant at Braaksma Design, a public art studio with projects commissioned across the country. She studied as an undergraduate at Colorado College and received her master’s degree in art history with an emphasis on public art from the University of Colorado Boulder. Lori serves on the board of Public Art Dialogue and is the board president of the Art Garage in Denver, CO.

Alison Verplaetse is the coordinator of Creative West’s Public Art Archive. Alison began her career as an academic librarian and conservator of books and paper, during which time she held positions at University of Colorado Boulder and Harvard University. Her interests in conservation and art led her to a role at a Denver-based public art fabrication and conservation studio, where she was a sculpture fabricator and welder for many years. She has worked with numerous artists and organizations and has traveled throughout the country to install works of public art. Prior to joining Creative West, she served as the exhibit design & fabrication manager at the Children’s Museum of Denver. Alison has masters degrees in library science and art history from Indiana University Bloomington and a bachelor’s degree in studio art from University of Indianapolis.
