Austin Art in Public Places welcomes you to its walkable, self-guided downtown tour of many artworks in the AIPP collection. Established by the City in 1985, the Art in Public Places (AIPP) program offers local and national artists, both established and emerging, an opportunity to contribute to our ever-evolving cityscape. The program provides unique works of art for publicly funded facilities and has been an integral part of Austin’s transformation into a top cultural and artistic destination in Texas and beyond. For three decades, AIPP artists have successfully completed projects that have become cornerstones of community identity. AIPP is a program of the Cultural Arts Division within the City of Austin’s Economic Development Department.
