The Public Art Archive’s mission “to make public art more public” has guided the program’s growth into one of the largest active databases of public art in the world and an essential resource for discovering and learning about public art. We strive to broaden the perception of public art by providing a platform where traditional artworks, such as monumental sculptures and classical fountains, are held with equal cultural significance as street art and community-based projects. We believe that public art is an expression of the unique identities of all people, and that belief fuels our work to promote and preserve essential perspectives in the public art canon.
