Submit ArtworkEligibility Criteria
PAA defines public art as any artwork that is or was at one time (if a temporary work) situated in a location accessible or viewable by the public at no cost. Artworks commissioned or gifted by corporations, museums, educational institutions, private parties, and other entities may also qualify.
New media, performative, rotating, and portable works may be eligible if they meet the commonly accepted definition of public or civic art and are, or were at one time, accessible for public viewing free of charge. Gallery art and art exhibited inside museums typically do not qualify. If you have questions about your artwork’s eligibility, please contact the PAA team.
