Program Summary

The Code encourages single-family residential developments of more than twenty-five (25) lots, multifamily residential developments of fifty (50) or more residential units, and other developments with a value of two hundred and fifty thousand dollars ($250,000.00) or more to contribute to a voluntary public art program. Developments can contribute by donating an amount of no less than one and a half percent (1.5%) of construction costs, but not to exceed one hundred and fifty thousand dollars ($150,000.00), for the acquisition and installation of fine art on the development site. Alternatively, developers can make a contribution of one percent (1%) of construction costs to the city’s public art fund. Subject to the approval of city council, developers may incorporate art that has a value lower than the program allocation and pay a public art in-lieu contribution to the public art fund for the balance of the program allocation.
